Inaugural edition of the Tech Diplomacy Forum, will take place on Wednesday, 18 June 2025, from 9am to 6pm (Paris time) at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris (125 Avenue de Suffren, 75007 Paris).

 

Event overview

The Tech Diplomacy Global Forum is a global event dedicated to the intersection of technology, policy, and international diplomacy. UNESCO is hosting this Forum as part of its work on science, technology and innovation policy. It follows the UNESCO Global Ministerial Dialogue on Science Diplomacy which took place on 25-26 March 2025.

The forum will launch its inaugural edition in Paris on 18 June 2025 at UNESCO Headquarters in Room II. It will bring together world leaders, tech innovators, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss and shape the future of global digital governance.
Themes

The key themes are:

Digital sovereignty and global governance;
AI and Ethics in international relations;
Cybersecurity and international cooperation; and
Bridging the digital divide.

 

Tech diplomacy is emerging as a dedicated pathway for engaging with the unprecedented challenges and opportunities of accelerating technological advancements. It offers a response to the growing need to strengthen digital capacities in diplomacy, promote ethical norms and ensure that technologies can be leveraged for addressing global challenges and social inequalities.

Organized in collaboration with UNESCO, the Tech Diplomacy Forum will employ an innovative model of engagement to build dialogue and capacities among tech companies, diplomats, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
