Fostering high-level dialogue on science diplomacy in Poland

Polish Academy of Sciences in collaboration with the European Commission is delighted to announce the high-level dialogue event “Science Diplomacy in Poland and its Role in the European Union”. The event will take place on 17 June 2025, from 09:30 to 15:30 CEST at the Staszic Palace in Warsaw, Poland and online streaming will be ensured.
Given the increasing importance of science diplomacy in addressing global challenges and navigating the changing geopolitical order, the primary aim of the event is to advance policy dialogue on science diplomacy by fostering exchange between political leaders from diplomacy and research policy and representatives of the scientific community in Poland. The event will also showcase current initiatives and raise awareness of policy needs and opportunities for future development in this field.
Key highlights of the event:
- Engaging with the latest significant developments in the science diplomacy discourse across Europe and worldwide: The Royal Society will present its recently published report, Science Diplomacy in an Era of Disruption (Royal Society & AAAS, 2025), which revisits and updates its influential 2010 taxonomy. In addition, the newly released report A European Framework for Science Diplomacy (European Commission, 2025) will be presented by one of its co-authors.
The ensuing discussion will offer a unique opportunity to engage with leading science diplomacy experts and practitioners from Poland and abroad.
